There’s something particularly nice about being voted for by the people who know your work.
E42 finished as the 2nd Runner-Up in the People’s Choice Award at the One of a Kind Startup Awards 2026, presented by The Economic Times and Cashfree Payments. The result was announced at the awards ceremony at Novotel, Bengaluru, on August 21, after a public voting campaign involving 10 finalists selected from more than 3,000 startup registrations.
The People’s Choice category made this one feel a little different. The finalists took the campaign to their own communities, and the final result came down to the people who chose to vote. For E42, those votes came from customers, colleagues, partners, supporters, and people who have simply been following what we have been building.
That support made the evening special. A vote takes a moment, but when enough people take that moment for you, it stays with you.
The ceremony brought together founders, investors, entrepreneurs, and others from across the startup ecosystem. It was also a good chance to meet people building very different businesses and hear some of the stories behind them.
For us, the evening was also a moment to celebrate Neil, the AI Co-Worker® for Accounts Payable, and the work that has gone into building it. Neil takes an agentic approach to Accounts Payable, a function that gets increasingly complicated as businesses grow across systems, entities, suppliers, markets and policies. The trophy is great, the support behind it means even more.
Thank you to everyone who voted for E42, and to The Economic Times and Cashfree Payments for putting together the One of a Kind Startup Awards and giving startups a platform to be discovered by a much wider community.
Animesh Samuel and Sanjeev Menon, Founders of E42, were in Bengaluru to receive the award. The Finance win also placed Neil alongside teams working on ambitious problems across the other Tech Next tracks, making the event a strong showcase of where enterprise technology is heading.
About E42 (Neil)
E42 is a no-code Cognitive Process Automation (CPA) platform to build an AI Co-Worker® that can take on complex enterprise functions end to end. Built AI-native from the ground up, E42 gives an AI Co-Worker® the agency to understand context, make decisions within defined boundaries, coordinate specialized AI agents and take action across enterprise workflows.
Neil, the AI Co-Worker® for Accounts Payable, is the flagship example. Neil supervises a collection of specialized AI agents that work together across the AP lifecycle, from invoice intake and document understanding through validation, approvals, ERP posting, exception handling and a 24×7 multilingual vendor and finance helpdesk. Its document intelligence capabilities support invoices across formats, languages and handwritten content, making it suited to complex, multi-country finance operations.
The broader vision is to move enterprise AI from systems that assist people to AI Co-Workers that can take responsibility for meaningful operational work.
